Portland Rescue Mission wanted to present a fresh perspective on its “Drive Away Hunger” vehicle donation program. Used vehicle donations are vital to providing a revenue stream for the nonprofit to feed and care for homeless people in the greater Portland area.

Portland Rescue Mission partnered with Spirit Media and TsaiComms to produce two television commercials highlighting the benefits of tax deductible vehicle donations. Spirit Media provided message strategy, scriptwriting, producing, on-site direction and sound, graphic design, and editing services.  Spirit Media procured Oregonian Katie Harman, Miss America 2002 as the on-air talent, surpassing Portland Rescue Mission’s desire for a respected spokesperson from the community.

The “Drive Away Hunger” television campaign was an instant success, generating an immediate increase in vehicle donation to the Mission’s program.
